July 14, 2006

Greetings from Phoenix.
I'm finally getting the chance to look up this blog. Never blogged before. Just finished reading the blog, and apparently I'm not alone with not being computer savvy.

The last messages I read were posted a couple of years ago. I'm glad this site is even still up.
I regularly stay in touch with Kristi Nadvornik and Robin Powell. I make at least an annual trip to NYC. I always ask about the Nelis'. I hope the e-mail address is still good.

Work and being overworked has kept me more than busy the last few years. Seems when you work in a place that's open 363 days a year from 5am to 10pm, managers are expected to be on call all hours of operation. Changed jobs last August in an effort to work closer to home because of the crazy gas prices. The trade off has been an insane boss, who micro-manages to death and treats everyone like they are teenage children. It's VERY weird. Been moving toward starting my own business, and knowing that my curent job does not have much of a future has simply accelerated the entrepreneurial process.

In the last 24 hours I've given HHH a lot of thought. I'm guest teaching at a summer intensive next week, and one of the activities will be "get to know the teacher". I'm expected to talk about my career, show pictures and videos, and the like. I spent yesterday afternoon rummaging through scrapbooks for pictures and write ups of various shows. It was really fun taking that trip down memory lane. However, it was not as easy as I thought it would be to compile a pictorial of my dance career. But now that it's done, I'm glad to have all of those essential memories in one place!!
(that's not to say that I don't still have dozens of pictures not suitable for students to see) :-)

Hugs to all,
Katherine McDonnell

Tom and Cindy Nelis

Greg, I just stumbled upon this blog. Its an inspired idea. Thank you! Cindy and Rosemary and I are still here in Brooklyn, winter has finally arrived, Christmas is around the corner and Vegas is beginning to sound pretty good.
We had an amazing if surreal experience at the reunion. I suppose I had never seen everyone fully dressed before, certainly not on that stage. Then too it was all over so quickly. I'm sorry we had to fly off before the picnic.
Saw Wille Walsh while working in CA last Feb and had drinks with Robin Powell and Kristi Nadvornik recently. They look fabulous.
If any other HHH types come our way please look us up. Nelisfam@juno.com.
Happy Holidays everybody,
Tom

HHH Documentary

Hi Greg and everyone,

I ordered the HHH documentary and really enjoyed viewing it. Lou and everyone interviewed did a wonderful job. I think the DVD is a must for anyone who opened the show and would be appreciated by anyone associated with HHH at any time.

Does anyone know of a copy of the actual show that is available? I would prefer a VCR or DVD of the original show, pre-Bally. Anyone with information can email me at this address: lyndiedance@yahoo.com.

My son starts high school next week. Now that's a sobering thought!

Take good care, Lyndell Gairaud=Lyndie Gist, tall nude

Hi Gregg and everyone,

Great idea! Like everyone else we can't believe it's been a year since that wonderful evening. However time moves on. Catrina our 4 year old just graduated from preschool Complete with cap and gown (if you can believe it.), and Ian is talking. We will be visiting Vegas labor day weekend, most likely staying with Frank Coombs. We would love to catch up with Gregg, Leslie and others if your in town. Just leave a blog or drop an email. We'll check back from time to time.

Hi from Florida

Dear Greg,

Thanks for a wonderful idea. This is my first time to "blog"!

Hello to everyone from HHH. I so enjoyed seeing everyone at the reunion. I hope someday we can have another get together.

I'm Lyndell Gairaud...Lyndie Gist in my HHH life. I have never lost touch with the Bunions and have visited Reno several times since I left HHH in October of 1982. Wish I still lived there.

As it is, I live in Florida with my husband and 14 yr old son. I am in close touch with Debbie Byrd Murfin. I'll see to it that she receives the blog info.

Take good care, Lyndie

Greetings from Bellingham, Washington

Thanks so much for putting this together Greg. I didn't find out about the HHH reunion until a day or two prior and was so disappointed I was unable to attend. Loved reading everything at Rosita's site and seeing the photos of everyone. Where has the time gone to....

Hello HHH Gang

Hi Greg,
Great idea, I too missed all the news from Rosita's site. Thanks you for the site.

Documentary

Evidently the local PBS station in Reno has created a documentary on Hello Hollywood Hello.

It only aired in Reno and I only heard about it from a friend. I have contacted the station and trying to find out if they will sell us a DVD of the show. I'll let everyone know the details when I find out.

Also, please forward the email I sent out to anyone interested in this type of forum. I got the addresses from Rosita's list and many got bounced back as undeliverable. I'm not saying the emails were bad, it could be operator error. So spread the word about this blog.

Gregg

Great idea

Gina,
It's so good to hear your voice - you were truly a guiding light for me when I came over from England as a young, naive 18 year old. Boy how times fly. Sorry I didn't make it to the re-union. By the time I found out about it, it was too late for me to plan anything - hopefully next time!

I am interested to know if any of the other English girls that I came over with in October 1985 have made their way to the website yet? I lost touch with Allison Pearce (Ford), my best friend after her husband Brad Ford passed away and she returned to England. She moved to Australia for a while and then I don't know where after that. I have written to her parents and her brother in England but I'm afraid they have all moved. It is my life's mission to find her if anyone can help?

Well must get back to work - glad I'm still in the loop!!!

Best Wishes
Susanne Moss/ Peterson / now Zedlitz

very nice idea

Hello, this is Lou Allard from the crew, I too looked forward to reading all the e-mails from everyone last year. This is a great way for everyone to keep in touch and share all their stories of way back then and what's happening now.

Thanks

Thankyou so much Gregg, I have to say, I would stop everything I was doing to read up on everyone. Many stories brought tears to my eyes, mostly through sentimental thoughts. How many people do we know in our lives today, that can say with true honesty what a fantastic reunion they went to.
When they started the music and the curtains opened it gave me goosebumps, and to look around the room at that moment and see so many people holding hands and hugging, is a sight I will keep forever.
Thankyou Gregg, for knowing about the internet and crazy little things like Blogg.
By the way I have run into quite a few people over the past year who didnt even know we had a reunion (where were they??) I saw Jim Rush (stage tech) at my sons soccer game, small world. Passed on Rosita's web site, so maybe we can also get a link from Rosita's web site to this Blogg thing, excuse the lingo I'm not too up on computers,
Anyway just a thought, Thanks once again, I hope people use this.

Talk to you later
